[ The video feed flickers on to show the biggest grin you could ever see on Menma's face. She's inside a building, and when she moves the Pokégear's camera around, you can all see the shelves typical of a Pokémart. Those of you with a keen eye can notice a pretty evident band aid stuck onto the girl's forehead. ]

I didn't know that having a work would be so fun! Getting paid for having fun is the best thing, isn't it? I never worked before, I thought this would have been boring. Ah, hold on!

[ The door opens with new customers walking in. Menma eagerly runs to them and waves. ]

Hello, hello! Welcome to the Pokèmart! Say hi to the camera, say hi!

[ ... The poor NPCs stare in confusion, then awkwardly wave back. Menma chuckles, turning the device back to show her face. ]

We're leaving the city tomorrow! I've got enough money to buy things, hope it's enough to get a bike. To all the people at Goldenrod- especially Maria and Lion, I'm gonna arrive there and meet you in a couple days! Bye bye all!

[ Feed cut! Little does she know that the shortcut doesn't work, and she's got to spend days and days running from Zubats in the cave...

For those in Violet City who are going to buy stuff in the Pokémart, you will have a cheerful silver-haired girl wearing a white dress greet you and pull you around! ]

Uu-, Memna will become a really great witch at this rate! Maybe Memna is the Witch of Healing or the Witch of Luck or something like that.. wish Maria could ask Beato if those exist.

[ Giggling loudly. ] Hee hee, it would be so cool if they existed! I would be so happy to become the Witch of Luck! That way, I can become the Nokemon champion in a flash~

Maria thinks that wouldn't be easy even if you use magic though, uu-.. Wouldn't that be a little like cheating even if you did that? [ yes, she has some sense of morality - mostly what her mother taught her, though.. ]

I don't think so! Luck comes at random, doesn't it? I think it's funny to find out when it helps me, especially when I battle! Like critical hits! [ she sees nothing wrong with that. ]

[ She repeats it as if it's a foreign term.. once more, what is Pokémon battles, is that a thing people do. ]

Yes! When my Nokemon hits the opponent's one harder than normal.

Hits.. u.. uu-, wait, Memna battles with her Pokémon?! But isn't that really, really sad?

Eh? Not at all! Battling makes Nokemon happy, didn't you know that?

Didn't know. Uu-, Maria thought nobody liked to fight, since it sounds like something that'd only make people sad.

[ Blink blink. ]

But Nokemon are different than humans! They enjoy measuring with each other and become stronger for their trainers, because they're our friends.

But Maria though that even if Pokémon aren't humans, they still have feelings..

... Uu-, didn't know their feelings were different from ours.. maybe Maria's Pokémon are very, very sad then.

I wouldn't say that! If your Nokemon were sad, you would have noticed it, wouldn't you? Battling is just one of the things they enjoy doing, but spending time with their trainers makes them happy too! [ Happiness meters and such... ]

[ Yup, that's pretty much the only way some of Maria's Pokémon ever evolve.. ]

Maria likes spending time with her new Pokémon friends, uu-. Never battle with them though, so.. they're happy just being with Maria too?

They're surely happy to be with a nice trainer like you! Battling is not necessary at all if you don't like it.

If Memna says so, then it must be true.. uu-.. [ aka 'the word of anyone older than me must be true!!' ]

Then Maria will make sure to forever stay re-ally good friends with her Pokémon!
