❀ 006. [ video ]

...

So this is what it feels like when a friend suddenly disappears.

[ Menma's face is... indescribable, sad but also lost. This is the first time one of her close friends leaves this world all of a sudden. Even she has no idea how she should feel about this. On her lap, there's an Eevee who looks just as lost.

It's like she musing to herself, rather than talking to the network directly. ]

At least now Maria can grow up and be happy in her home... uu... wish I could thank her for giving me this little one. [ She pets the Pokemon on the head absent-mindedly. ] I don't know if I should be glad for her, or... How do you all feel when a friend disappears? I... just don't know.

[ She quickly wipes a tear off her cheek, and then shuts the feed off. ]

[Well, that...!

...That is a good question, isn't it. Huh...]

I...don't think so...I mean, you're not sad because she's happy, you're sad because she's no longer here. So I doubt that makes you a bad person...

I would be more inclined to say that it makes you normal, but I suppose it wouldn't be a terribly good thing to wish on someone if it causes their unhappiness. Or something along those lines.

Was she very unhappy here, then?

[...well if nothing this conversation is just making him realize that he still has no clue how to feelings, wow.]
