Hello? Helloooo?

[ The feed opens to the image of two wide, bright blue eyes staring curiously at the camera. It then zooms out, as Menma pulls the device away from her face. Her finger then appears, to poke at the screen. ]

Can anyone see me? You can see me, right?

[ There's more poking, and then, a wide smile cracks on her gentle features. ]

I'm Menma! Nice to meet you all! I was told I can use this thing to talk to everyone, so~ Hmmmmm...

[ She glances around briefly, before returning her attention back to the camera. ]

So, who wants to catch Nokemon with me? It'll be fun, promise! Let's become friends and have adventures together. Okay? Bye!

[ A soft giggle, then the camera view shakes as Menma tries to find the switch-off button of her new shiny Pokegear. Eventually the feed turns off. ]

[ Action ]

[ Whoever is walking in the streets of New Bark Town can see the figure of a young girl who stands out, more or less, because of her white flowing dress and the fact that she's barefoot. Menma is trotting happily without a care in the world, humming in a sing-song tone in rythm with the music on the background. At her feet, a Petilil is following along in the same chipper manner. One would assume she doesn't know where the hell she's going... ]

[...Lapras looks disappointed as soon as Mitsuki sees her. It didn't work this time. The girl laughs and gets up from the grass before it reaches her.]

Ah. She -- [deep breath, and pause before her voice is back to normal.] She's a Lapras, she was my starter. Thanks for the warning, she usually tries to pull me into the water once she's done playing with other water types there.

Whoa, that's such a large turtle Nokemon! I thought she was going to attack you!

[ She deflates a little, but only out of relief. ]

I'm sorry if it scared you, and she should apologize too... [...and she will, after getting a look from the girl, with an apologetic singsong sound.] I should have remembered that she's still there and might try something like that. But I concentrated on our conversation. [Have a smile. At least it was just that Lapras and not her previously very devilish Dragonair, who really looks like ~~dragon~~ a snake.] Ah, but yes. She's getting big - and that's a compliment. One of those Nokemon who never evolve, but instead grow from baby-size to adult-size.

It's okay! Now that I know she's not going to hurt you, I'm happy. [ She was less scared about the large Nokemon and more afraid that Mitsuki was going to get hurt. ] Oh, I know! It's one of those Nokemon that don't evolve!

Nah, she'd never hurt anyone - except other Pokémon in a battle, but she's just extremely playful.

You really learned a lot from Nokemon, huh? [Just curious, it's not a bad thing.] Ah, yeah Lapras is one of those that don't evolve at all.

It's because I played that videogame a lot! Dunno if there are things that I don't know about, though. [ There probably are. ] Evolving Nokemon is cool, but watching a Nokemon grow up normally is also nice!

I wish I had played those games too, sounds like they're really helpful in this world. Ah, and that's to say that everything you've said so far sound like it's true in here too. Can you travel with friends in those games?

[ Thinking for a second. ] ... No, I can't do that. I mean, we can trade Nokemon and battle together, but we can't travel together.

Ah, that's too bad because traveling with friends is always more fun. [Thinking about it for a few seconds.] It still sounds very similar to this place. But I guess traveling inside a game is a lot faster than traveling ... outside the game even if the world is based on a game. At least you can travel with lots of friends here.

Really? Do you think they will travel with me if I ask them? [ Is that really how it works here??? ]

Well, I don't have any experience on it, since I've always traveled either alone or with my friends from home -- ah, and with a friend who I met here before, when I came back to this world -- but... Yeah, I think that's how it works.

And there's nothing wrong with asking from others, right? I'm sure there are other new people around that town, who'd love your company on their journey.

Then I'm going to ask any newbie I meet to join me in the adventure! Walking alone is boring, even if I'll have my Nokemon with me. [ She picks her Petilil up to snuggle her a bit. ]

[A-Any?] I hope you'll find great friends that way while they're still in the area. Traveling alone here is really boring and lonely, even if you have a full party of Pokémon with you. [Talking from experience... And smiling because you two are cute.]

[ Nod nod nod! ] That's right! I'm going to talk to them and tell them they should join me and catch Nokemon together!

That's a great spirit. [She might laugh a little.] ...I hope you can still find other new people from the area. [It's not like she's late, but some people are fast.]

Uu-? Are newbies rare here? Do they need to be caught like Nokemon? Should I battle them? [ There's a chance she's not joking about this. ]

[brb, laughing for a moment.]

[yeah, okay, she can handle this.] They're not exactly rare, people arrive - something like every other week, or so. You don't need to catch them! [Well it might work as a very original way to start friendships?] I guess there's no need to battle them either, unless you want to. That's right - I guess friendly battles are nice too.

[She should try them with her boyfriend and friends.]

Ooooh, so we can battle but it's not necessary? [ Well... she'll need to train her Petilil before she tries to do anything at all. ] Do they go on adventures really fast then?

Well, no one forces you to do it - except maybe the locals on the roads between the cities if you run into them. And there are people who don't like it, and some pokemon don't like it either... But most pokemon want to battle and train to become stronger to protect you. [Does that even make any sense?] I guess some of them do? A friend of mine has a really hyperactive friend, who couldn't stay still at all, because he was so excited to be here.

And some newbies might have arrived a little earlier than you and went ahead, because they couldn't find company from that town. They're probably still somewhere near, on that route from that town to the next city. [And she's talking too much, again.] Or I could be wrong and everyone's still there.

Hmmmmm... [ Rubbing her chin a little. ] Do these trainers want to battle you as soon as you look at them into their eyes? It happened to me all the time in my videogame!

Well, I can't say who's here and who's not until I go look for them! [ Which means she should hurry... ]

[A little laugh.] Yes, they do that, so similar people from your game are in this world too.

You should probably go look for them and start your journey, and have fun in the world of real Nokemon! [Yes, you should hurry Menma. She'd love to keep talking to you, but it's time for you to start your own adventure~!]

I got it! I should really go before it's dark!

[ And with that, she stands up- the camera flashes her bare feet for a moment. ] Thanks for everything, Mitsuki! I really owe you one!

Ah, dark is a bad thing too - though some of these creatures only show up when it's dark, and some of them hide from the dark.

[Mitsuki shakes her head with a smile on her face.] You don't really owe me anything, but you're welcome and thank you too, Menma-chan.

Go go, new friends and new Nokemon are waiting for you! Ah, and I hope you'll find that Ponyta soon. It was very nice to meet you, and maybe we'll meet in person soon~.

Ah, thanks for telling me! I didn't know of that thing. [ Something she wasn't aware of, for once.

She then waves at the camera, smiling brightly. ] Bye bye, Mitsuki! We'll sure talk again soon!

[ And with that, she looks for the switch off button for half a minute- after which she ends the feed. ]

Well, I almost forgot it too. You're welcome.

[She could be even more surprised by it, but ah - she's heard the "but these things weren't in my Pokemon games" line so many times by now.

Mitsuki waves at the screen too.] Bye bye, have a safe trip! And feel free to give me a call if you need anything!
