Hello? Helloooo?

[ The feed opens to the image of two wide, bright blue eyes staring curiously at the camera. It then zooms out, as Menma pulls the device away from her face. Her finger then appears, to poke at the screen. ]

Can anyone see me? You can see me, right?

[ There's more poking, and then, a wide smile cracks on her gentle features. ]

I'm Menma! Nice to meet you all! I was told I can use this thing to talk to everyone, so~ Hmmmmm...

[ She glances around briefly, before returning her attention back to the camera. ]

So, who wants to catch Nokemon with me? It'll be fun, promise! Let's become friends and have adventures together. Okay? Bye!

[ A soft giggle, then the camera view shakes as Menma tries to find the switch-off button of her new shiny Pokegear. Eventually the feed turns off. ]

[ Action ]

[ Whoever is walking in the streets of New Bark Town can see the figure of a young girl who stands out, more or less, because of her white flowing dress and the fact that she's barefoot. Menma is trotting happily without a care in the world, humming in a sing-song tone in rythm with the music on the background. At her feet, a Petilil is following along in the same chipper manner. One would assume she doesn't know where the hell she's going... ]

[Huh? Face is so close at first. But then again, those eyes are really pretty... Ah, so she's one of the new people.]

Hee, you seem very excited about this. [Come on, Mitsuki, you were too... At least this time around.] I'm sure you'll get lots of friends.

[ Except for the fact she should definitely buy herself a pair of shoes, but heh. ]

Ah, well I'm not sure if literally everyone here is nice [because members of team rocket might be somewhere far from good kind of nice people] and sometimes bad things happen, but personally I've only met nice people here.

[Or get a big sisters such as Mitsuki ~~and Lacus down there~~ who might buy her everything!]

I'm Mitsuki. It's nice to meet you, Menma.

Eh? Bad things can happen in heaven? [ She wonders quietly. There she goes again... but the doubt is wiped by another wide smile on her face. ]

Nice to meet you too, Mitsuki! You seem cute and nice, so we should be friends!

Ehhh? Heaven? [...Did she hear that right?] This isn't heaven though.

[But she'll give her a wide smile, might even include a little giggle into it.]

You seem cute and nice too, let's be friends! We all need many friends here.

Eh? But this is heaven. [ Might be a little stubborn about it. ] My friends helped me go to heaven, and then I woke up here! It makes sense. And I'm already making friends here, so it's a plus!

[...Oh wow, talk about experiences that bring back so many memories.

Okay, how is she going to tell you this?]

Ummm. This really isn't heaven, this is the world of Pokémon. And [to make it less bad?!] your friends from home might also either already be here or they might show up someday. Until that you can make new friends.

[ Sorry, it looks like her brain broke a little hearing that. ]

But that can't be possible... I'm dead, I should be in heaven! What do you mean my friends are here?

[No, it's okay. Mitsuki -- almost saw that coming, considering all the brain breaking moments of her life. Dead? She's really ... dead? Welcome to Mitsuki's life, it's kind of been full of dead people in many ways.]

Well, they might be here, or they might come here someday. If they reply to this then they are here. If they don't, then maybe they are not here...

[...actually, the question that could be here? She takes that one back. 'Wouldn't heaven be a lonely place' is definitely not a question to ask, ever, because then she'd have to ask it from her self too after her first love went there.]

Because... This is not heaven and not exactly the real world either. We could say that this is a place for all the dead and the living people to meet again.

[ This all sounds so big and complex, too complicated for poor Menma who just wanted to go to heaven, have her wish fulfilled and be happy in the afterlife. If what Mitsuki says is true, then the reward expected is greater than she was used to think. But...

A part of her is hoping that her friends don't respond to this. They all have school, a life to fulfill, dreams to accomplish... and families to look after. What if arriving here hurts them? What if it's something they never wanted? As much as it pains her, it's best if they all moved on. That's what she thinks.

The cheeriness in her voice dies down, and now she looks a little wistful, gaze wandering to the side. ]

Are there people who don't want to be here, I wonder?

[...Okay, you'd get a hug if she was in New Bark right now.]

I wonder that too. We all just wake up here at some point, so I guess there are that kind of people too. Everyone have their things to do at home...

But, it's not the worst place either. You'll get a lot of different friends who come from all kind of worlds. And if this place ever sends you back to where you came from, you'll go straight to the situation where you were before coming here.

We can be... sent back? You mean we won't be here forever?

[ She wouldn't be concerned about herself, but if that would be the case- then her friends wouldn't lose their dreams, and at the same time, they can be together and have adventures in this world that is so much like the videogame they used to play the six of them.

Suddenly, it doesn't sound so grim. ]

Yes we can. This is my second time here [or technically third, because she was in a coma, but ...], so I know it's true.

It's just entirely random; who gets send home and who stays here for years.

[She still kind of feels bad for ruining her impression of heaven, but not so much because...]

So, anyone can come here and be sent back from here. Living people go back to their dreams [...except those who come here from right before their death, but uh, let's not think negative!] and dead people go guard over them to heaven from here.

For Menma-chan it's the chance to meet your friends who are still alive, and for me it's the chance to meet my guardian angels again if our friends ever come here, yeah?

[ Menma listens, without interrupting. Real heaven will come if she leaves this place, huh... but she can't leave on her own. There's a question that pops in her mind and she'd like to ask, but before that- ]

Guardian... angels?

Mmm. I never met my parents, then there was my first love who died too and and then I met some real angels who became my friends.

[That's ... just a very short summary about her life. And that's a calm smile on her face. It's okay, they'd want her to smile too after doing their best to keep her alive.]

Oooo...

[ There's a pause as she lets it sink. ]

Your story is similar to mine, but there were no angels~ [ And she's the one who died and left her "one true love" behind. ]

I guess we're like opposites even though our stories are similar.

[Wait, no angels? She's not going to ask about ghosts, though that would be another connecting thing between them.]

But you could be their angel~.

[ That would be great if it were true, but... ]

But if they're not with me here, I can't look after them.

Ahh, but even if they're not here, they're always in your heart, right? Even if you can't see them, you're always connected with them that way.
